‘Month of Action’ Includes Free Rides, Childcare to Increase COVID-19 Vaccine Access

President Joe Biden recently announced a “month of action” as a part of his administration's effort to have 70 percent of Americans partially or fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by July 4. Accommodations will assist adults in getting their shots, including extended hours at vaccination sites, free drop-in childcare, and free Uber and Lyft rides to and from vaccination sites. 

Free Rides to Get a COVID-19 Vaccine

According to Lyft: “Starting May 24, we’re funding free rides (up to $15) each way, to and from vaccination appointments.” For information about free Lyft rides: https://www.lyft.com/vaccine-access.

According to Uber: “Through July 4, you’ll get up to four free rides (up to $25 each) to and from your vaccination appointments.” Book a free ride to your vaccine on Uber: https://www.uber.com/us/en/coronavirus/

Business Incentives for Vaccinated Americans

Thousands of employers and businesses have already stepped up to support vaccination efforts, including offering incentives for vaccinations and providing their workers paid-leave for vaccinations. During the Month of Action, the Biden Administration will continue working with employers to make it even easier to set up workplace vaccination clinics, and call on more businesses to encourage and incentivize vaccinations. COVID-19 Vaccines Available to All Nevadans 12+

COVID-19 vaccines are available in communities statewide now, including many walk-in clinic/pharmacy options, and vaccination is open to everyone 12 and older. COVID-19 vaccines are FREE to anyone living in the United States, regardless of insurance or immigration status

Nevadans have three ways to access important information about COVID-19 vaccines and appointments:

  • Via the website NVCOVIDFighter.org 
  • Over the phone using Nevada’s vaccine hotline at 1-800-401-0946, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily
  • Through live chat at NVCOVIDFighter.org
